5 Movie Night Essentials

Exploring the wild streets of the city is not always an option — especially while navigating a global pandemic. But that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with a few close friends! So here is everything you may need:

1. A movie that is accessible which everyone will enjoy

No movie night is complete without a blockbuster movie, right? So choose something that everyone will enjoy. Beforehand, ask for a few suggestions. And have everyone select their top two. The movie with the most votes wins, obviously. Here’s a tip, make sure the winning movie is readily available, or at least can be found on streaming services.

2. For screening purposes

Now that you’ve got the movie sorted, it’s time to figure out how you will be watching it. Will be the classic white sheet and projector, or will be streamed on the TV? Also, make sure your laptop is charged (or in charge). It’s best to iron out all the technical difficulties before your guests arrive

3. Good company

Movie nights can be quite an intimate experience. So to avoid spending those moments with strangers, surround yourself with a bunch of close friends. But not too many, remember it’s still a pandemic!

4. Comfortable seats and (optional) blankets

Let’s be real, no matter how good the movie is, if everyone is uncomfortable it won’t be enjoyable. So whether you’re watching in the living room or your bedroom, make sure everyone has a comfortable seat. It doesn’t have to be too fancy! Pile on the blankets and gather heaps of cushions. You can even ask your friends to bring some from home.

5. Yummy snacks

And who can forget something to munch on! Besides having buckets of popcorn and candy, offer your guests grub from the MyKitchen website. They’ll surely enjoy snacking on mouth-watering salted chocolate bark. Or stuffing their faces with avocado and herb hummus with bread and dippers, tomato salsa and tortilla chips.
