How To Elevate Your Bathroom

Elevate your bathroom from pretty and plain, to hotel-chic luxury using a few small decor pieces

Greenery is Golden

Adding a pop of greenery to an otherwise neutral space is the easiest way to brighten up the bathroom. Not only do they liven up the corners, but also inject personality to an overlooked but functional room in the house. Your plants could be real or fake (we are not here to judge!) just as long as they are well taken care of, whichever your preference. Depending on the amount of light you receive in the bathroom, be sure to choose your plants accordingly, as some don’t do well when being kept in the dark. Fake is great, especially with how realistic they look nowadays. Just be sure to keep them well dusted so no one would know (we won’t tell if you don’t).

Mirroring your Soul

What is a bathroom without a ginormous mirror to clearly see what’s happening on your face? In our opinion, the bigger the mirror, the more lighting is reflected within the space, making the bathroom seem bigger than it really is (tricks of the trade). Always look at wall-fitted mirrors to save on floor space and avoid a broken mirror plus a seven years of bad luck-type situation. With the recent revival of the ’70s, curved mirrors are a real crowd-pleaser, but rectangles will always be a winner for the modern-day minimalist.

Making Memories

Stepping out of a hot shower or bath onto the cold floor is not ideal, especially in winter. Bathroom mats are an absolute must, and be sure to consider the memory foam version. Their soft and plush feel under your feet are nothing short of luxury at its best. If you were looking for a hotel vibe, this would be the way to go. Memory foam mats are also easy to keep clean but just be sure that there is enough ventilation in the bathroom to keep your walls, ceiling and these mats dry.

Quintessential Quality

Nothing screams ‘I live in a hotel’ more than mini bathroom soaps and shower gels. However, this doesn’t need to be reserved for hotel experiences only. Recreate the feel within your own home with matching hand soaps and creams in your guest bathroom. The attention to the smallest details are what your guests will notice, and will be sure to leave a lasting impression. Also opt for a diffuser with a great scent that lingers in the bathroom and avoids any unpleasant odours.
