Make Your Own Delicious Minion Cupcakes

Have fun making, decorating and EATING these Minion cupcakes

Makes: 8

 

INGREDIENTS
Cupcakes
Premix vanilla cupcake mixture with icing
8 black or blue cupcake cases
Blue food colouring

Black icing
1½ cups icing sugar
3 tbsp water
Black food colouring

Decorations
4 Tinkies
8-16 white chocolate chips
2 tbsp chocolate vermicelli

 

METHOD
1. For the cupcakes: make the cupcakes following the package instructions. Spoon the mixture into the black or blue cases and bake.
2. For the Blue icing: Make the icing from the cupcake mix by following the instructions. Mix in the blue food colouring till you like the colour.
3. For the black icing: mix icing sugar with water until it’s smooth and thick. Add the black food colouring till it’s nice and dark. Then place the icing in a piping bag with a small nozzle.
4. For decorations: cut the Tinkies in half and lay them on the flat side. Use the black icing to pipe a straight line across the top of the Tinkies. This is for the minions’ glasses.
5. Stick one or two white chocolate chips in the middle of each line. When they are set, pipe a small black dot on the chips. The minions now have eyes!
6. Pipe a smile below the eyes to make the mouths.
Tip: if you don’t have a piping bag, use a sandwich bag and make a small cut in the corner. Ask someone older to help you when using scissors.

7. Stick the vermicelli in the top of the tinkies to give the minions hair.
8. When the cupcakes are cooled, pipe blue icing on the tops. Now stick the tinkie-m
