Celebrity make-up fails

This year, we’ve seen many trends rise up and die down in the make-up world. The smeared lipstick aesthetic took over runways, however, critics quickly knocked that one down! Then there’s the latest – the wavy brow – which has taken social media by storm (despite it’s weird and wacky reputation). Let’s hope greats like Rihanna and Kylie Jenner don’t start endorsing these trends!

If they do, we’ll be seeing a whole new kind of ‘acceptable’ being defined. One thing that really tends to spark debates in the cosmetic community, is when celebrities get the ‘make-up thing’ all wrong, after they’ve gone all out and impressed their fans with gorgeous, full glam looks. We’re all for girl power as sass, but there’s a difference between a sultry, smokey eye and a full on blackout. We love the red lip, which should have been the only statement feature, but the black eyeshadow was not a hit.

When you’ve been blessed with big eyes and a perfectly chiseled face, there’s no need to be over doing it with large splashes of foundation and eyeshadow. Creating larger eyes with beauty products should be left to people with smaller, narrow eyes.

She’s a beauty and fashion icon, but this just was not one of Lea’s best looks. Often when we apply many layers of make-up, it can begin to look cakey and muddy, which is not ideal – especially for a red carpet event.
